Since the fall of the wall, European borders have dramatically changed and have brought forth new forms of migration such as commuter migration or “just-in-time” migration that is precisely tailored to the temporary job market. The highlyrecommended volume illuminates different dimensions of social processes of change from a consistent gender perspective, identifies the multiplicity of new tides of migration made up of women and men in the service industry, and makes visible this migration in middle and eastern European countries. The volume integrates international comparative perspectives by reporting from fieldwork conducted in Poland, Turkey, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Italy, and Slovenia.Downloads
