The authors utilize the results of different partial studies on the compatibility of work with study conducted at the University of Oldenburg to show which conditions must be fulfilled in order for those affected to experience their institution as truly family friendly. It becomes clear that in addition to the sensitivity of instructors and supervisors toward particular burdens on (student-)parents, institutions of higher education are made more family friendly mostly through affordable childcare that is also compatible with studying and working conditions.Downloads
