The versatile contributions of this collected volume clearly show that the images of gender roles and parenthood also in the media and the daily practice of women and men mutually affect one another, but are absolutely not identical. On the contrary, the diverse contradictions stand out the more that societal and individual standards diverge, which result from the different constructions of parenthood. Although gender roles have changed so that individual possibilities for shaping these have grown, a transformation of society at a structural level has not yet been completed.Downloads
