The volume provides an international perspective on the sometimes diametrically opposed positions on sex work in general as well as on the question as to union representative interests in particular. It uncovers the explosiveness of the discussion in feminist discourse as well as in political labor (market) discourse. Unfortunately, the debate remains stuck in a fundamental understanding of either “for” or “against.” It thus neglects the discussion and evaluation of concrete attempts to apply union-based organizing strategies to the sex industry. For the most part only representatives from the unions or organizations that support sex workers have their say. Only two articles come from the sex workers themselves.Downloads
