Abstract

Discussions on the cultural and media phenomenon of “pornography” often stand out in their lack of knowledge about the object under consideration and their imprecisely defined terminology. The text at hand points out confusions and prejudices and also contributes to the creation of a scholarly and comprehensible foundation for establishing a definition that can serve as a basis for further discussion. The following considerations provide a short summary of Corinna Rückert’s dissertation: Frauenpornographie. Pornographie von Frauen für Frauen. Eine kulturwissenschaftliche Studie. Frankfurt am Main 2000 [Female Pornography. Pornography by Women for Women. A Cultural Study].
