This collection of essays introduces primarily empirical studies which investigate the psychological effects of totalitarian influence of former socialist states on their citizens. A number of essays attempt to explain these effects by drawing on psychoanalytical concepts (using, for example, the idea of a totalitarian object). This book offers only little food for thought for anyone working in women’s studies and gender studies.Downloads
