The insertion of the gender perspective offers a new direction to theological ruminations on the discussion of God in light of the world’s suffering by breaking through classical conceptions of theism. Given that the theodicy question cannot be conclusively answered, it is necessary to return to an appropriate manner of speaking about God. Feminist theologians have contributed to the decisive revision of God’s image. The book comparatively discusses the connection between “God, gender, and suffering” by using three theological conceptions of God, which have received relatively little attention in German-speaking regions. The study culminates and concentrates itself in the specific image of the “weeping God.”Downloads
