Holger Herma examines the change in the social semantics of love in postwar West Germany. His special concern thereby is to empirically reconstruct the impact of generational specific realms of experience on the understanding of love and partnership. Central to the qualitative interview study is the sometimes tense relationship between the semantics of love and life practices, but also the interplay with other social discourses and transformative processes, for example gender relations.Downloads
