Abstract

Most articles of this anthology are the result of a conference, held at the University of Oldenburg in 2009. For the purpose of intersectionality research, Disability Studies and Gender Studies are to be correlated to each other and – supplemented with new perspectives – new fields of research are to be outlined. Above all the theoretical articles largely identify disability with the category “body”, which results in a strong focus on bodily impairments, while other impairments – above all learning impairments, for example within the framework of special education needs for students – are addressed more in the practical articles.
