This volume is based on several of the author’s articles on women’s rights and globalization, which have been updated and supplemented (not always sufficiently). The book still shows its diverse contexts of origin (journalism and science). Nevertheless, it offers a multitude of information and thoughts – and thought-provoking questions – about the still current impression that women’s equality, particularly in economic regards, still leaves a lot to be desired and actually repeatedly encounters obstacles. The reason why feminism is not dead, why, in the form of diverse – in parts new and indeed rivaling – concepts, it has by no means lost its importance in the 21st century, is deduced convincingly.
