This anthology is both bold and necessary. It offers empirical and theoretical, scientific and political foundations for being able to develop a distinct position in the discussions about multiculturalism and oppression of women, parallel societies and sexual autonomy. The approach is already surprising: not only is the lack of sexual autonomy, expressed in forced marriages, addressed, but at the same time, its conditions in mainstream society (specifically the acceptance of homosexual relationships) are questioned. The contributions from Great Britain, Austria, and Turkey shed light even on hidden corners of the discussions and –without becoming vague or inappropriately detailed– they boldly face the surfacing entanglements, complications, and even contradictions.
