This study, located in the field of sociology of knowledge, analyzes the professional habitus formations of social workers in German, Polish, and Czech municipalities, who are concerned with the regulation of prostitution in their daily work routine and/or who are dedicated to fighting and preventing human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation or to the care of victims. Based on forty-five expert interviews, the perceptual, thought, and action patterns of administrative agents in police departments, regulatory authorities, and health authorities as well as of social work practitioners are reconstructed. The study offers valuable insights into the administrative practice and its constituting factors that otherwise frequently remain unnoticed in the analysis of prostitution politics.Downloads
