Using very plausible examples, primarily from the fields of history and literary studies, as well as various perspectives from different disciplines, strategies, functions, and motives of diverse forms of emotion management as well as the development of emotion studies are addressed. As a cross-section perspective, the authors of the collected articles in this volume repeatedly analyze the gendered dimensions of the production of emotions. In doing so, they illustrate emancipatory aspects that the (conscious) consideration of emotions can have as well as the corset of expectations, which is produced by the ‘correct’ emotional behavior.Downloads
