This anthology contains four articles that harmonize very little. Furthermore, only two of them deal with the topic that was announced in the title. Karin Aleksander gives a well-informed and also historically grounded overview of the facets and desiderata of the gender reality in libraries and reports about the work of the center for interdisciplinary women’s studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin. Erwin Miedtke describes the first steps for the realization of the EU guideline for gender mainstreaming in Bremen’s city library. Agata Martyna Jadwizyc analyzed the models of masculinity in several men’s magazines. Birte Meiners offers an overview of reading research and reading promotion that also considers gender differences.Downloads
