Sabine Klinger’s empirical study reconstructs the gender perceptions of students of pedagogy and education on the basis of four group interviews. In doing so, the author elaborates both on the subject-specific influence on the students and on the molding of the academic and social environment with regards to the gender knowledge. Additionally, the study is also able to illustrate to what extent social discourses on rhetoric processes of modernization, gender contract, and masking effects (Verdeckungszusammenhänge) affect the students’ attitudes on gender questions and thus constitute and legitimate strategies of (de-)thematization of gender (questions).Downloads
