This anthology is the result of a conference organized by its editor Ingrid Gilcher-Holtey. It comprises the interventions of 14 critical intellectuals (of 'female' gender) - from Käthe Kollwitz to Naomi Klein, thus responding to the rising demand for including a greater number of 'female' intellectuals into academic debate. The introduction written by the editor provides a highly readable and sophisticated starting point to the field of 'research on intellectuals', and to the fact that women tend to be neglected in this area. The contributions of this volume invite their readers to delve deeper into the works of these (in some cases yet rather unknown) female thinkers.Downloads
