Abstract

Aihong Jiang looks at Else Lasker-Schüler’s poems from a new point of view, using the traditional Chinese aesthetic concept of Yi-jing. This enables her to develop interesting interpretations. Firstly, the concept as such as well as its two components are introduced. Then Jiang shows that the “effect of Yi-jing”, the “dynamic liveliness”, is extraordinarily strong in Lasker-Schüler’s poems.
