Abstract

Courses of study in engineering are “resistant to gender critical reflection” (Fleßner, p. 7). For this very reason, the authors approach the question as to how gender can be critically reflected upon in engineering and how aspects of gender research can be integrated into teaching. In this, they act on the assumption that an institution of higher education is a place for identity construction that communicates social norms and values in addition to knowledge.
