Abstract

In her work, Allhutter examines the apparatus of digital pornography in a feminist and deconstructivist manner. In so doing, she covers a wide range of topics, from the representation of the entwinement of ethics and technology to the examination of EU Internet politics. Here, she is interested in demonstrating in how far pornography, as a phenomenon of mass culture in the digital age, is dependent upon processes of change, but also continues to reproduce and solidify (hetero-)sexist, racist, and ethnocentric structures. The analyses, which are informed by both political science and technological science, are of interest to feminist scholars because of their diversity with regard to content and theme. They are also intended for those interested in technology but who have yet to examine feminist discourse on pornography.
