Sandra Hedinger examines texts by Bertha von Suttner, Rosa Luxemburg, Hannah Arendt, Betty Reardon, Ann J. Tickner, and Jean Bethke Elshtain for their ideas on gender relations, on the causes of war, and on ways to overcome war. Hedinger’s reading of these texts shows that the ideas of these theorists were closely linked. Hedinger’s book presents a request to the field of International Relations to open itself to new considerations and to hitherto ignored female authors.Downloads
